Bessel Research Award to Ivan Smalyukh

A faculty member of the University of Colorado at Boulder, Department of Physics - Prof. Dr. Ivan Smalyukh - has been elected the recipient of a Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Award after having been nominated for this award by Prof. Dr. Siegfried Dietrich, MPI fuer Intelligente Systeme, Stuttgart/Germany. This award is conferred in recognition of lifetime achievements in research. In addition, the award winners are invited to carry out research projects of their own choice in cooperation with specialist colleagues in Germany.
