Welcome to the website for the 26th International Liquid Crystal Conference (ILCC 2016). The ILCC is the most comprehensive meeting covering the entire spectrum of science and technology of liquid crystals. The first ILCC was held in 1965 at Kent State University, in the year the Liquid Crystal Institute (LCI) was founded, and today, every ILCC is attended by nearly 1000 research scientists and students from all over the world. The 26th ILCC will be an opportunity to look back the history, discuss the current issues and challenges, and foresee the future of liquid crystals. You are welcome to join the community and present your latest discoveries and ideas.

Attention! Undergraduate and High School Students
Undergraduate and high school students, who are interested to learn the fundamentals and frontier of liquid crystal science and technology, are encouraged to apply for Free Attendance of Tutorial on July 31, Sunday. Tutorial lectures will be given by the internationally renowned scientists who have made pioneering and critical contributions to the subject matter of their talk. Public Lecture: The Art of Scientific Presentation
One hour lecture by Professor Jan Lagerwall, 13:00-14:00 July 31, Ballroom, gives you a bird's-eye view on the common errors often made and the basic rules of good scientific presentations. Special Talk: Prehistory of International Liquid Crystal Society, 1978-1990
Did you know that the International Liquid Crystal Society (ILCS) is a legal entity incorporated in Ohio, USA and is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year? Professor Lui Lam talks about how the idea of ILCS was conceived and brought to existence in Special Talk, 13:00-13:40 August 1. Ballroom. Attendance requires registration to the Conference.
