Kent State University and its Liquid Crystal Institute, in conjunction with AlphaMicron Inc., are hosting a special symposium to celebrate the diverse and profound scientific impact taking place at the boundaries between the traditional disciplines of physics, materials science and applied mathematics.   This symposium will bring together leading researchers, both experimental and theoretical, from all three disciplines, showcasing a wide breadth of topics.  In addition, the symposium will also celebrate the innumerable and far-reaching contributions that have resulted from the distinguished career of Professor Peter Palffy-Muhoray.
